First Do No Harm Safety videos
Access two First Do No Harm video presentations. When completed, each of the one hour videos provides 1 credit-hour of Category 1 CME. A short online quiz and evaluation form must be completed in order to receive credit. Completion of each of these videos is required for credentialing and re-credentialing of all members of the medical staff of a Novant Health hospital.

Ambulatory Care Diabetes Performance Improvement CME
The Novant Ambulatory Care Diabetes Performance Improvement CME Activity is a structured, long-term process by which adult-medicine primary care physicians can retrospectively assess their management of diabetes care (Stage A), learn about specific diabetes performance measures (Stage B), apply these measures prospectively over a specified interval, and re-evaluate their performance (Stage C).
- Physicians completing all three stages in sequence may receive up to 20 AMA PRA Category 1 CMA credits.
- Furthermore, this Novant activity has been approved by the American Board of Family Medicine as an external provider of Part IV Maintenance of Certification for Family Physicians credit.
- Term of approval is for two years from the date of October 7, 2009 with the option for yearly renewal.

Cultural Competency Educational Training Programs
www.thinkculturalhealth.org The US Department of Health and Human Services has developed National Standards on Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS). With the increasing diversity of the United States' population, physicians are more likely to encounter situations that require the delivery of culturally competent care and access to a vast array of language services. This site will provide more information on how physicians and healthcare professionals can receive information about CLAS standards and register to earn up to 9 free CME credits (Physicians and Physician Assistants), 9 contact hours (Nurse Practitioners), or 9 contact hours (0.9 CEUs) (Pharmacists) while exploring engaging cases and learning about cultural competency in health care.

CME Requirements
North Carolina Physician Licensure requires CME reporting. As a physician you need to obtain and document for your files the required practice-relevant CME. A three-year CME cycle shall start on your birthday. You will be asked to report your total hours of applicable relevant CME each year on your annual license registration form, but you will have three (3) years to meet the requirements that each physician licensed to practice medicine in the State of North Carolina shall complete:

150 hours of practice relevant CME every three year cycle.

At least 60 hours shall be Category I CME

The remaining hours shall be Category I or II CME
